Torpedo Rocks Reserve 2019 Cabernet Malbec Merlot
70% Cabernet/15% Malbec/15% Merlot
Yield: 4 tonne/hectare
Soils: Sandy loam and non wettable sandy loam, alluvial flats and quartz gravels.
Winemaking: Dry grown, hand-picked, basket pressed - 10% being whole bunches - malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 18 months in 100% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 35% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the Forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.
Minimal intervention when bottled.
Tasting Comments: This wine is all about beautiful blue fruit characters; black cherries, black plums, blueberries, blackberries and some raspberries who want to be blue. The taste as you would expect is overall Cabernet with the above luscious fruits, a slice of Nanna’s fruit cake and the richness of the Malbec mocha tones. The Merlot softens the impact slightly but this blend registers very high on the taste scale. The mouth feel is big with a fabulous tannin structure and plate length that finishes at the bus stop down the road.

Minimum order quantitiy is six bottles (either all the same wine, or a selection to make a mixed box). A 10% discount is offered on purchases of 6 bottles, and 15% discount for 12 bottles of more.
