Torpedo Rocks Malbec 2018
Yield: 4 tonne/hectare
Soils: Sandy loam, alluvial flats and quartz gravel
Winemaking: Dry grown, hand-picked, basket pressed - 10% being whole bunches - malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 18 months in 100% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 35% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the Forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.
Minimal intervention when bottled.
Tasting comments: Vibrant aromas of violets, morello cherry, blueberries and cocoa tells you this is a Malbec straight away. It is very fruit forward with a full mouth of sweet black fruits, blueberries and hints of crème brulee. All this is supported by an underlay of firm, silky tannins with a long lingering finish. Drink now or develop with time. The Malbec works with a steak but also with beetroot, pumpkin & fetta summer salads.
Minimum order quantitiy is six bottles (either all the same wine, or a selection to make a mixed box). A 10% discount is offered on purchases of 6 bottles, and 15% discount for 12 bottles of more.
