50% Shiraz / 34% Cabernet /16% Merlot

Yield: 4 tonne/hectare

Soils: Black loam over limestone with a high ph. Sandy loam over clay and non wettable sandy loam over clay.

Aged for 22 months in 5% Reserve American Oak and 95% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 35% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the Forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.

Tasting Comments: A lovely garnet red colour, the Australian blend marries two great families and a cousin. The Shiraz gives us spices, white pepper, salty liquorice and intensity. Whilst the Cabernet with its red fruits, earthiness and chocolate provides the fullness, body and elegance that gives this wine a soft round mouth feel and long finish. The Merlot softens the overall impact but don’t be fooled – this is a complex wine with many layers and our trial bunny said “too sophisticated for me”.
