Torpedo Rocks Reserve Shiraz 2013
Yield: 4 tonne/hectare
Soils: Black sandy loam over limestone with a high ph.
Winemaking: Dry grown, hand-picked, basket pressed in whole bunches, malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 22 months in 10% Grande Reserve American Oak and 90% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 35% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the Forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.
Minimal intervention when bottled.
Tasting Comments: The Shiraz that comes off the top block is a deep purple with a strong perfume of allspice, red berries, marzipan, hints of white pepper, liquorice and vanilla. The flavours on the palate are full, rich and with the driving force being those fabulous red fruits. The tannins and oak are seamless and the finish is endless with a firm mouth feel. This is an elegant expression of the Shiraz varietal.
Minimum order quantitiy is six bottles (either all the same wine, or a selection to make a mixed box). A 10% discount is offered on purchases of 6 bottles, and 15% discount for 12 bottles of more.
