Torpedo Rocks Reserve Shiraz 2017
Yield: 4 tonne/hectare
Soils: Black sandy loam over limestone with a high ph.
Winemaking: Dry grown, hand-picked, basket pressed in whole bunches, malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 22 months in 10% Grande Reserve American Oak and 90% Grande Reserve French Oak used with the new oak component being 35% with 2, and 3 year old oak barriques. The new oak percentage has come from middle of the Forrest growth oak with a tighter knit and seamless feel.
Minimal intervention when bottled.
Tasting Comments: The Barossa Clone and the Heysbury clone with its different nuances have created a wine full of rich black fruits, red berries, marzipan, hints of white pepper, subtle baking spices and delicate sweet tobacco. A silky smooth palate for a wine so young, the tannins and oak are a seamless and the finish is endless and smooth. Reminiscent of an old-world Syrah in its elegance, paired with the noticeable rich fruit qualities that only a great Australian Shiraz can deliver.
Minimum order quantitiy is six bottles (either all the same wine, or a selection to make a mixed box). A 10% discount is offered on purchases of 6 bottles, and 15% discount for 12 bottles of more.
